Godspell is a musical, composed by Stephen Schwartz with the spoken parts by John-Michael Tebelak. It opened off Broadway on May 17, 1971, and has played in various touring companies and revivals many times since, including a 2011 revival which played on Broadway from October 13, 2011, to June 24, 2012. Several cast albums have been released over the years and one of its songs, "Day by Day" from the original cast album, reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972.
The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, that are interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ treated briefly near the end of the performance.

The Sacramento River Cats will host their annual Mommy & Me Day (weather permitting) at Raley Field. Following the success of previous Mommy & Me Days, this non-ticketed, free event is open to children ages 6-and-under and their parents. There will be no baseball game on this date. Children will enjoy a variety to activities on the outfield of Raley Field including bounce houses, catch on the field, arts and crafts and much more! Additional items will include: Free Parking (it's strongly advised that strollers should be left in the car as there will be no stroller access on field) Variety of vendors from the community Special appearance by Dinger, the official mascot of the River Cats
Ever wanted to learn how to draw dragons? Join us at the library where artist Julia Stagg will teach children and teens the skills to create a detailed dragon sketch from beginning to end. This event is part of the Summer Reading program.

Join an afternoon of painting fun for everyone! This special Paint Nite experience led by a local artist is open to painters ages 6 and up. All painting supplies and instruction are included, and the restaurant will have food and drinks available for purchase if you want to add some treats on to your experience.
TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!! TeamNorCal and the River Cats have joined forces again for the new season and are bringing you more fun than ever!! Paint, purchase food and drink from the concession, and enjoy the game afterward at the River Cats Stadium. Additionally, enjoy themed fireworks shows after every Saturday game.
If you missed last year's Paint Nite/Ballgame events, now's your chance. Each ticket purchased includes the price of entry to your Paint Nite event AND your ticket to the game. No food or drink is included in the ticket purchase, but the concession stands open early just for us.
